The Late-September Openings That Set Wesley Chapel's October Calendar

The Late-September Openings That Set Wesley Chapel's October Calendar

At 26967 Halter Loop, nine artificial shade trees stand over a courtyard that was built for crowds. On Friday, September 18, the Hub at Lexington Oaks held the first of its Moonlight Markets there. A week later, on September 25, Avalon Park Group cut the ribbon on a new park in its downtown. Three days after that, on Monday, September 28, the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA held its grand opening.

That is three new public gathering places in eleven days, built by three different groups: a private retail developer, a master-plan builder and a nonprofit working on land leased from a hospital system. Each one opened with a recurring schedule or a planned next phase. October 2026 is the first full month all three are running, and it overlaps with the busiest stretch of the fall calendar at The Grove.

What Opened, in Order

  1. September 18: Moonlight Market at the Hub at Lexington Oaks. It runs on third Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. The organizer, Florida Penguin Productions, launched it as the center's opening series and recruited "night-friendly vendors."
  2. September 25: Avalon Park Common. The opening evening had live music and family activities, plus a name reveal. Community member Desiree Gutierrez won the naming contest.
  3. September 28: Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA, 4379 Wellbeing Way. It is the first YMCA in Wesley Chapel, and Tampa YMCA President and CEO Matt Mitchell said the project took six years to come together.

The Hub Arrived With a Courtyard Built In

Center Connect Development's Paul Bissett and Courtney Bissett-Hayes planned the Hub as a 40,000-square-foot dining, retail and entertainment destination spread across six buildings, with a shaded outdoor gathering area. Neighborhood News reported that the plan called for live music, pop-up markets and seasonal programming in that space. The Moonlight Market is the first regular version of that idea.

Tenants opened in stages before the market began:

  • Bonchon opened Wednesday, May 20, at 27093 Halter Loop.
  • Hummus Republic opened July 20 at 26962 Halter Loop.
  • Cinnaholic opened August 21 at 27145 Halter Loop.
  • La Creación Bistro, The Clubhouse golf simulator, Headlines Barber Shop, Pet Wants and Lexington Nail Lab are also on the operating roster.

The next confirmed arrival is Urban Crunch Creamery Café at 26935 Halter Loop. As of a September 25 report from What Now Tampa, it was still preparing to open in mid-October. The tenant list from May 2026 also named several other concepts as forthcoming. None of them had confirmed opening dates in recent coverage, so a call ahead is the safe move before planning around one.

The Hub opened its anchor event before its full lineup. The October Moonlight Market falls on Friday, October 16, and it will be the second market with a tenant mix larger than the first one had.

Avalon Park Common Opens Before Its Stage Is Built

Avalon Park Common sits in downtown Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, and its biggest feature hasn't been built yet. Avalon Park Group says a bandshell is scheduled to open there in early 2027. Coverage of the opening didn't list the park's permanent amenities beyond that planned stage. The bounce attractions and vendors at the September 25 party were part of the celebration, not fixtures.

A short walk around the park already offers places to eat. Tallo Restaurant & Bar, Rudraksh Indian Cuisine and a Dunkin' are all operating downtown.

The park gets its first big test three weeks after opening. Fall Fest runs Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, 33613 State Road 54. The event listing says admission is free and promises a talent show, kids zone, vendors, food trucks, a pumpkin patch and live music. It is presented by Higher Growth Journey Foundation & Enterprises.

The YMCA Is Built for Weekday Routines

The Hub and the Common are built around evening and weekend events. The YMCA runs on a weekday schedule. According to Bay News 9's opening report, the two-story, 49,319-square-foot building includes:

  • an aquatic center with lap and teaching pools
  • a family adventure pool
  • a gymnasium and group exercise studios
  • a wellness area with smart strength-training equipment

Programs include youth sports leagues, summer camps, drop-in supervised child watch and chronic disease prevention. The Y expects to serve more than 40,000 households and create more than 300 jobs.

Its location says a lot about the project. The building sits next door to BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel on land leased from BayCare Health System, and the two organizations plan to coordinate wellness and medical services. "Wherever there's a new community coming in, we like to put a new YMCA," Mitchell told Bay News 9.

October, Weekend by Weekend

The three new places join a fall calendar that already had fixed events. Here is how October 2026 lays out:

Date Event Where Hours
Sat., Oct. 3 Warlock House Enchantment Family Spookfest, first public edition 25950 Queen Sago Place 2–6 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 11 Harvest Market The Grove and KRATE, Wesley Grove Blvd. 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Fri., Oct. 16 Moonlight Market The Hub at Lexington Oaks 5–9 p.m.
Sat., Oct. 17 Fall Fest Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, 33613 SR-54 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
Thu.–Sun., Oct. 22–25 Wesley Chapel Fall Festival The Grove at Wesley Chapel Hours vary by day
Sun., Oct. 25 Harvest Market The Grove and KRATE 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

The Warlock House also offers statuary night tours every Tuesday and Friday in October at 7 and 10 p.m.

The busiest stretch comes late in the month. From Friday, October 16, through Sunday, October 25, the Moonlight Market, Fall Fest, the four-day Fall Festival and a Harvest Market all take place within ten days. On October 25, the Harvest Market and the last day of the Fall Festival are both listed at The Grove. Florida Penguin Productions runs the Fall Festival with the North Tampa Chamber of Commerce and calls it "the premier Fall event for Pasco County." The organizer posts daily hours separately, so check its schedule before heading over that weekend. The Harvest Markets don't accept food trucks, so shoppers will find craft and business booths there instead.

Other New Spots Near The Grove

A few recent openings make it easy to add a meal before or after these events. Green Table, a plant-based restaurant, now operates inside KRATE at the Grove in the former Shake-A-Salad space, according to a July 2026 Tampa Bay Beacons report. 1916 Irish Pub opened in July at 27315 Wesley Chapel Blvd., near Old Pasco Road in Towne Centre at Wesley Chapel, in the space Beef O'Brady's used to occupy.

Still on the Way

These have been announced, and each one's most recent report gives a future or unconfirmed opening:

  • Urban Crunch Creamery Café, the Hub at Lexington Oaks, targeting mid-October.
  • MINISO, The Shops at Wiregrass, next to Nikki's Boutique on Paseo Drive. The center's listing gives an October 30 soft-opening date without naming a year, so it's worth confirming with the center.
  • Tiên's Sandwich, a banh mi and boba shop at 2557 Mansfield Blvd. in Wiregrass Ranch. The Tampa Bay Times reported it was slated for November.
  • Sweet Paris Crêperie & Cafe, near Center Court at The Shops at Wiregrass. In June it was forecast to open "this fall."
  • Little Greek Fresh Grill, 33787 Wesley Chapel Blvd. in Phase II of Shops at New River. No opening date has been announced.
  • Nine pickleball-only courts at the north end of Wesley Chapel District Park. Pasco County approved $700,000 for the project, and the Tampa Bay Beacons reported that construction could start in December, with completion targeted for early summer 2027.

The bandshell at Avalon Park Common, due in early 2027, is the next scheduled change to the places that opened this September.
